Teater Eksem is a Swedish theatre company based in Gothenburg. Since the company was founded in 2006, we have created numerous productions and performed for audiences all over Sweden as well as in England and China.
The company is currently run by the two artistic directors and actors Mia Kjellkvist and Susanna Vildehav. We collaborate with directors, dramaturgs, choreographers and performers, who all bring their unique talents and experience to the creative process.

The company is driven by our commitment and interest in issues and themes that are close to us like gender, politics, feminism and how theatre and culture can and must play an important role in today's society.
Previous productions include The Vagina Monologues (2007-2009), Jack & Jill  (2008) and Diary of a Madman (2009) as well as plays written or devise by the company, like RYMM-raketen (2011), FUL (Ugly) 2013 and the most recent play Mangoträdet (The Mango Three).

Most of the company's artistic processes start with a question or a theme that we want to explore. We always do a extensive research, both on acting techniques and on the topics that the performances are created around.  The approach lays great emphasis on developing younger artists, training and adult education.  We are involved in Riksteatern´s (The Swedish National Theatre) playwriting competition NY TEXT as judges as well as producers of readings of the competing texts.  We organize and lead workshops for actors in a range of techniques like Meissner technique, Buffoon and gender and norm conscious acting.
Between 2008 and 2010, the company participated in the international theatre production Re-Orientations together with actors and dancers from England, France, India and China: a project led by Border Crossings and funded by the EU Culture Programme. Re-Orientations performed in London, Shanghai and Gothenburg.
